More of Gyeo-wool’s antics for the first half of ep8. The corgi has an undying fascination with the residents ducks (though the latter aren’t very keen on making friends with a nosy dog). Gyeo-wool is so enamored with the ducks he decides to check out their “workplace” — aka the rice paddy. Poor ducks can’t seem to get rid of him.
Result: a dirty dog emerges from the paddy field covered in mud, and without any chance of nabbing a duck. (cos the birds are faster than him in water)
After washing the dirty corgi and having (yet another) sumptuous lunch of braised spicy beancurd with mackerel soup, the cast sets out to their next farm task the following morning — grape harvesting. In comparison with sweet potatoes and water melons, harvesting grapes is a walk in the park. The grape vines block out much of the hot sun, and most importantly, you HAVE to taste a grape before cutting the entire stalk. So yah, you get to eat while picking grapes in the shade. (i wonder if there are job openings)
Only drawback: the grape vines are pretty low. So only selected people (read: the shorties) can do the harvesting. And we know who the hobbits are — Papa Yoo and Ho-joonie. Though Chajumma “claims” that both are 184 ad 186cm respectively — it’s “juz the TV screen that makes them look short”. (yeah right) In that case, Chajumma and Joo-hyuk will be 2m giants.
In any case, the giants decide to take on the more boring task of folding boxes for the grapes. It’s pretty hard work, sitting down in the shade and chit chatting while packing the boxes. So yeah, the harvesting hobbits are in a more admirable position. (or maybe they are, since they get to have free grapes while picking)
By chance, Joo-hyuk discovers a new talent while packing grapes — he is a human weighing scale. Each box of grapes is to be 2kg exact, and he is the only one out of the 4 who is able to pack exactly 2kg, no more no less. What’s even creepier is he can easily tell the weight (with a marginal error of +/- 0.5kg) of each of the box the other cast members packed. In the end, the guys gave the weigh-pack job to Joo-hyuk while they seal the boxes. (haha)
After receiving their wages for the day’s “labour”, the guys head out to chill. As in literally. After a sundae lunch, they stop by a water fountain in town to get really wet and then travel to neighbouring Yoo-sung old city, where The King and Clown is shot. Unfortunately when they intend to travel to visit a stone museum…Papa Yoo ends up taking a wrong turn and enters the high way — to Seoul. (eeps)
Does that mean next ep we will see them back in Seoul? Then what about poor Gyeo-wool at home?!
