A 12-episode quiz variety show hosted by Yoo Jae-suk and Jo Se-ho. The format of the show is different from most quiz shows, as the hosts have to find random people in various neighborhoods in Seoul (once in Daegu) to answer quiz questions. Passers-by will be asked the question “You Quiz?” to give their consent to participate in the quiz. Successful individuals will be given the prize money of 1 million won on the spot. For the first 5 episodes, winners had to answer 5 objective questions correctly. However, from episode 6 on the participants can choose to answer either 3 objective questions or 1 subjective question to win the prize money.
I feel that the format of this quiz show is rather special, although Yoo Jae-suk had previously proposed to have interviews with random people on the street in Infinity Challenge. So this show is like an upgraded version of Yoo Jae-suk’s proposal, where he got to interact with people on street, as well as to give people a chance to win cash for answering questions correctly. I really like this show as it not only give us a chance to get knowledge through the quiz questions (and maybe testing on our knowledge as well), we also had to chance to understand the lives and attitudes of common South Koreans. The participants were of various ages, occupations and even nationality. Foreigners who could speak Korean was also invited to participate. Some of the interviewers were really humorous, while some gave insightful advice. It was really amusing to hear the children’s response to Yoo Jae-suk’s questions about life!
The most memorable episode for me is still Episode 1, when a couple from Bangladesh won the prize money. The wife was then asked to sing a Bangladeshi song, which ended up to sound like “Maybe there is money here” in Korean. Another interesting participant to look out for is a teacher walking barefooted while accompanying his students on excursion!
