About us

kooriyuki:

I love cats (and rabbits and dogs and hamsters), I love Korean TV. Despite not being Korean, I have come to appreciate the culture and trying to learn more on my own. I also go by the nickname of bishbash on Dramabeans and Youtube.

I watch dramas of different genres, but steer VERY clear from horror (and though not horror, I’m afraid to watch Ten). I wish I have more time to watch sageuks, and the occasional well-made family dramas.

My all-time favourites are as follows (in no order of preference):

  • Worlds Within aka The World They Live In
  • Arang and the Magistrate (Shrine Completed!)
  • Seo Dong Yo aka Ballad of Seo Dong
  • Signal
  • The Princess’ Man
  • A Thousand Days Promise
  • Be Melodramatic
  • Alone in Love
  • The Chaser
  • Live Up to Your Name
  • The Red Sleeve

There. Do keep this blog bookmarked! And oh, opinions here are just opinions, please consult other blogs before deciding if you wanna watch a certain drama or movie. Have fun!

PS: In this realm Lee Sang Woo and Song Jae Rim (Mary @kdramalaws has claimed him) Yoo Yeon Seok are mineeeeeeeeeee~~

Sab:

Hi there! My taste for k-drama is totally the opposite of kooriyuki‘s. I HEART gore. lol. ok, juz in case you think I am a closet psychopath…I also love the bubbly frothy and totally “??!!” rom-coms which k-dramas are especially good for. In fact, I think k-drama has re-invented a lot of our perceptions of love, etc. I won’t comment to say whether it is good or not, since everyone needs a fantasy…but seriously, real life ain’t like that.

Oh, and I hate sageuks (i.e. Korean period dramas). They totally BORE me. Plus any dramas that go beyond 25 eps also bore me. Yep, short attention span. So you won’t find me recapping/ reviewing/ watching such dramas. The ONLY drama that I managed to sit through and belong to the above categories was Dae Jang Geum, mainly cos I was forced to by my family. ><”

We hope to do some recaps of not so popular but still good dramas here, and of cos, give you our views on the current dramas that are airing.

These Kdramas have left a long-lasting impression on me:

  • Secret Garden
  • My Name is Kim Sam Soon
  • Ten
  • You Who Come From The Stars

Axerine:

Latest member to be onboard! I have been watching Korean dramas and movies since 2001, grown to love Korean music (I am a diehard Shinhwa Changjo!!!)..I collect Kdrama OSTs, the last time I counted I have 112 albums) and took up the Korean language in 2004…I’ll watch anything if the plot interests me and/or my favourite actor/actress is in it….dislike supernatural genre unless it’s a rom-com…enjoys watching Korean variety and talk shows too…my posts would be mainly on drama/movie/variety shooting locations in Korea as I have been to many of them…adding some travelogue element to this blog!

The dramas which were deeply etched in my mind (in random order):

  • Coffee House
  • Hong Gil Dong
  • My Girl
  • Master’s Sun
  • Nine Ends Two Outs
  • Beautiful Days
  • Pasta
  • Prosecutor Princess
  • Tree With Deep Roots
  • City Hunter

  1. Please review the drama My Mister! I’m sure all of you will appreciate it. I’ve been reading your reviews and it’s so interesting to see your viewpoints; you’ve looked way deeper into the stories than I have. P.S. Don’t let the title fool you. It’s not a romance drama.

    • Hi there, thanks for the encouraging comment! I’m not sure if any of us here watched My Mister however =) It’s on my watch list but I’m currently swarmed with work to get down to it. Thank you again!
